This week on the blog I am doing something a little different. I get asked all the time from my patients and coaching clients about the activities I do, what I eat, supplements I take, skin care, books I’m reading etc.. So I decided that at the end of every month I would do a little round up of some of my favorite things, places, and activities. My hope is that this will be a helpful resource for you and maybe you’ll even be inspired to try something new.
So without further ado, here are a few of my favorite things from April:
Body
This month I was really focused on my health. Mostly because I have been so busy that I wanted to make sure an abundance of energy and really boost my immune system. To start I needed to do a little cleansing and detox a bit. Now I’ve done tons of different cleanses in the past, all of which while helpful, made it very difficult to have any sort of social life. And to be perfectly honest I felt pretty rough while on them. But I finally found a supplement based cleanse that was so easy, and made me feel great while on it. It is called the Tao He Cleanse by Nature’s Sunshine. This is a 15 day cleanse that combine Chinese herbal medicine with Western herbs to gently detox and rebalance the body. It’s as simple as taking a few pills every morning and night. While on the cleanse I simply cut out gluten, dairy, processed sugar, and alcohol. I also limited my consumption of meat. This cleanse was easy peasy and had me feeling fantastic. I highly recommend it for anyone that is looking to increase their vitality or for anyone looking to lose weight! For my local clients, I would be more then happy to order this for you if you are interested.
During my healing journey this month I was also introduced to an amazing company called Zija. Now I am pretty skeptical when I am trying something new, but it only took me about 1 day on their products to fall head over heels in love with them. Zija has several products
all which are made with Moringa Oleifera, which is essentially the most nutrient dense plant on the earth. My favorite product is the Super Mix, which provides over 90 vitamins and minerals, plus all of your amino acids. The most impressive thing about this product is that it is all bio-availble, which means your bodies cell’s can actually absorb all the nutrients. I’ve tried tons of green drinks in the past, but none even come close to measuring up to Zija. Anyone that has been around me this month knows that I have been buzzing around with energy and have never felt better. I also have several patients that have dropped weight fast with Zija’s products. So I am officially hooked! This product is a game changer, and I want everyone to know about it. I have also developed a weight-loss program around these products for anyone that is interested, email Lauren@Laurengraceliving.com and I will let you know how to get started, or how you can get your hands on some samples.
Mind
Change isn’t easy. But it can become a lot easier when you understand what is actually happening in your body when you are trying to make a change. Which is why I love this video interview with Business Guru Marie Forleo and Sports Psychologist Todd Herman. In this video Todd explains the biology of change. What is happening to our bodies on a cellular level when we are creating new positive habits. I work with a lot of clients on making healthy lifestyle changes and feel that this video provides tons of helpful insights on how to make changes that stick! Definitely worth tuning in to!
Spirit
One of my teachers and mentors Gabrielle Bernstein just released her 4th book, Miracles Now 108 life changing tools for less stress, more flow, and finding your true purpose. Gabby is the part of the next generation of spiritual teachers. What I love about Gabby is that she is able to explain spiritual principles such as meditation and manifestation in a down to earth practical way. Her latest book is essentially a spiritual tool box to help you move through anything that might be tripping you up. From minor every day stressors to major life changes, you’ll find yourself picking up this book time and again.
Fun
I can’t believe I am writing this, but dancing has become my newest obsession! If you have been following my blog you know that I recently started taking dance lessons, something that I thought I would never ever ever do! I was terrified to dance, and while I am still pretty terrible at it, I am learning and loving the process. I’ve been blessed to find some amazing
teachers to work with at Dance Fever in Lakewood Ranch. Zavier and Alice are not only extremely talented professionals, but are also super sweet to work with. They have been nothing but encouraging with me from the start, and have really helped build up my confidence. For any locals that are looking for something fun and different to do I would highly recommend giving dancing a try. No matter where you live I am sure there is dance studio near you, and most offer free introductory lessons so you’ve got nothing to lose. If I can dance, anyone can!
The reason I got into dancing in the first place was that I decided for 2014 I would try a new fun activity every month. So in addition to dancing for the month of April I went ice skating! Now I haven’t been ice skating in probably 17 years or so, but I use to love it as a kid. And surprisingly I still remember how to skate. The first few minutes on the ice were a little shaky, but then it all
came back to me. And I had a blast! It definitely made me feel like a kid again, and it was such a fun and different kind of activity to do on a Saturday night. I’m not looking to become a professional or anything, it was just about having a silly fun experience. Now maybe skating isn’t your thing, but I would encourage to find a similar activity that is fun for you. Maybe something that reminds you of your childhood. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try something new, you never know you might just like it.
I actually have more favorite things to share with you, but I don’t want to make this post too long so I’ll stop here with just the highlights. And please note that none of these are affiliate links. I’m just genuinely sharing with you things/places/people that I love. If any of these different items resonated with you and you want to learn more, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Now it’s your turn to reflect. What were some of your favorite things from this past month? Any awesome memories? If April seemed a little dull or boring for you, maybe it’s time to think about how you can spice up your life for May. Don’t let another month go by where you aren’t learning, growing, trying something new, and most importantly, having fun!
